Bringing Hope Within Reach! Always Affordable & Effective!
Hope Counseling is part of Teen Challenge. Teen Challenge has helped tens of thousands overcome alcohol and substance addiction for nearly 60 years. We’re the world’s largest group of addiction treatment centers, with over 200 in the U.S. and 1,000 more worldwide.
Hope Counseling offers low-cost addiction and alcohol counseling for men, women, and teens. We provide both online and in-person individual, couples, and group counseling. Our goal is to create lasting change, not just a short break from addiction. We want to help you stay addiction-free for life, even when things get tough after you leave our program.
Understanding the Grip of Addiction
Addicts and alcoholics often turn to substances to cover up inner struggles like a need for love, success, or belonging. Drugs and alcohol temporarily ease their mental pain, but they soon become dependent, unable to quit on their own. The pull of addiction becomes too strong, leading to painful withdrawal when trying to stop.
Once addiction takes hold, it dominates thoughts and actions, making it hard to quit alone. People might resort to theft or selling drugs to support their habit, which can lead to legal trouble. Over time, they need more of the substance to get the same feeling, and this dangerous path can lead to overdose or severe harm.
Without a new mindset and life focus on filling the void, the addict will return to their addiction again and again, ravaging their relationships, trustworthiness, career, finances, and physical and mental health. The addiction will utterly destroy them.
Transformation Through Faith: Finding Strength in a Higher Power
When dealing with addiction, repeated failures and feelings of inadequacy are common. Many addicts realize they can’t change on their own due to their past mistakes and guilt. That’s why our program emphasizes relying on a “higher power” from the very beginning. We believe that building a personal relationship with Jesus Christ can make a huge difference in an addict’s life. Instead of trying to change by themselves, they learn to ask for help from their Creator.
Through Christ and the Holy Spirit, addicts find a constant source of support that brings peace, purpose, kindness, truthfulness, and the desire to overcome addiction. Initially, they might feel unworthy and burdened by their past, but understanding that Jesus Christ accepts and forgives them opens a new perspective. They start to feel worthy again and want to seek forgiveness from others and help others too.
With Christ’s strength, they gather the courage to seek forgiveness from those they’ve hurt. Surprisingly, many people see their positive changes and are willing to forgive them. This helps addicts let go of guilt and move forward.
Restoring Truth in the Addict’s Journey
All addicts tend to become skilled at lying, to their friends, families, and even to themselves. They often avoid taking responsibility for their actions by shifting blame. When we introduce Christ into their lives, we’re also bringing back the truth, something they may have lost. Many of our team members have faced addiction themselves, so they can see through the lies.
From now on, we focus on being truthful and open. Sometimes this means being firm, but it’s always done with understanding and care. Gradually, the addict realizes that the best way to live is by leaving behind the lies and embracing the truth, with the guidance of Christ.

- Legal Trouble?
We accept individuals who have been in trouble with the law or are in jail. Courts have allowed addicts time here in lieu of jail because they know how effective our program can be to completely change hearts and lives.
- Personal Growth
We help the addict sprout new leaves and grow a new life, free of addiction and the pain that led them to their addiction. We are all about planting the seeds of new life and helping the individual grow into a new creature in Christ.
- Vocationally Focused
We teach humility, care, trustworthiness, and the traits of a good worker. We help the former addict find a new vocation and rebuild their future. Having a strong future plan keeps the individual excited about life and self-supporting.
"NO WARRANTY" LEGAL NOTICE: While independent outcomes studies have shown very high recovery rates for indiviuals in our programs, we cannot guarantee recovery for any particular individual. Recovery and future abstinence from addicting substances and the effects that such substances may have on the individual or their life, actions, or their future are entirely dependent on the individual and how well they apply the principles we have taught them. We are an educational institution, and how the individual in our program learns from what they are taught and modeled here, is totally up to them. Individuals who stay the full term (until graduation) have much better long-term recovery from addicitons than those who do not.
